Harley Elizabeth

On Thursday, June 10, we welcomed our baby girl Harley Elizabeth into the world.
She was 7lb 5oz and 20 1/2 inches long. She looked like a little doll- so tiny!!
(At least to us- Big Brother was a whopping 8lb 8oz, and the same length!)
She had a very healthy set of lungs... she didn't just cry when she was born, she screamed!
But she calmed right down when she was close to me or her Daddy, so we didn't mind!
Her apgar scores were great... 8 and 9, just like Big Brother.
But a couple of days later, she had to go on the billi light.
Our little glow worm.

(I LOVE this picture... I think the glow makes her look like an angel!)

James is such a good big brother. He loves Harley (or as he says, Haa-eeee!) He wants so badly to help... with everything! Bottles, diapers, blankets, pacis, you name it. Unfortunately, he is about as gentle as a 2 year old little boy!I'm worried that he will love her to death!

But at least he likes her!

We are so blessed... two beautiful, healthy children.
Everyone's adapting as well as we can... I'm typing this with Harley sleeping in my lap!
Overall, however, life is good! Harley is a GREAT sleeper, and in general pretty laid back.
Which is a good thing, because...
WE'RE MOVING!!!!
Please don't ask when.
We have no idea.
We have to sell the house first.
To do that, we have to finish all of our DIY projects.
And do quite a bit of painting.
And move a LOT of stuff into storage so our house looks as big as it is.
With a 2 year old, a newborn, and 2 dogs.
And Jason's new job, which requires roughly 2 weeks of travel a month.
Every month.
We may be in Mobile a while!!
Updates to come.
Maybe.
If I find time to blog about this.
If not, updates will be on Facebook or Twitter.
(Hey, I do what I can!)
Have a great week! Time to feed the baby!

Ready for spring- I think!?!

Ok- I know that I've complained in the past about Mobile not having real winters. Well, I TAKE IT BACK!!! I'm so, so very sorry! I am cold! Even 6 months pregnant, I am cold! It could be worse... we could be dealing with the snow that the rest of the country has dealt with- but still- I am ready for warm weather...

Except...

With warm weather comes spring, and shortly after spring comes June, and with June comes Baby Harley!!! And I am totally NOT ready. Not even close. I have SO MUCH SEWING to do- and monogramming, and organizing and cleaning, and cooking (well, getting casseroles in the freezer) and... well, the list is starting to depress me.

Maybe I should just be content being cold.

Or maybe I should get off the computer and go get to work. Just a thought! :)

Another 3 months... and I am still a TERRIBLE blogger!! But in my defense, it has been a very busy winter!

To begin with, I am now 24 weeks pregnant with our second little bundle of joy- a little girl- to be born in June! It has been another tough pregnancy... lots of morning sickness, and complete exhaustion, this time compounded by chasing a toddler! I do not know how mothers of multiples do it! I am beat trying to keep up with one 20 month old. Soon to be joined by a little sister! Yikes! :)

We have been busy little bees trying to get everything ready for Miss Harley Elizabeth's arrival- and by we I mean me. I've already started sewing clothes, and we recently got THE NEW STROLLER! The Sit-N-Stand Deluxe Tandem stroller. This thing is crazy big, and folds down crazy small!! I. Love. It! Now to get... everything else! Double yikes!!

James, in the mean time, has been growing like a weed. He still isn't talking much, but he's picking up words here and there, and we are not too worried! I think he's just too busy to be bothered right now!

And he is definitely busy! Into everything, all the time! But so sweet! (Except when he's pitching fit- luckily those aren't too frequent... yet!)

Here are some pics from this winter- and a pie-crust promise to update this bloggity-blog more often!

Pie-Crust Promise- easily made, easily broken!! :)

Thoughts

OK- so it's been a while since I've posted... like 2 months.
I know should have tons of updates, and even more pictures, but, there have only been a few updates, and all pictures are either saved to a CD (that I'm not exactly sure where I put) or still on my camera (that is in the other room.)

So... here I go with what I have... my memory and keyboard. (This could get interesting!)

1. Monkey is getting huge! 24 pounds (and believe it or not, we're going Thursday for a weight check, because there is some concern that he is off his growth curve! I think the problem is the constant teething... see #2)

2. Monkey is teething... and not again... CONSTANTLY!!! He is 16 months, and when the two molars that haven't quite broken the skin get in, he will have 16 teeth. That's right, canines, bicuspids (no idea if I spelled that right!) molars on the bottom... everything! At this rate, he'll have his wisdom teeth in before preschool. This is my excuse for his very random growth spurts.

3. We went to the pumpkin patch for the first time last weekend. Monkey had a wonderful time! He ran from pumpkin to pumpkin, and tried to pick up every single one! Especially the ones that were bigger than him! Pics to come.

4. This Saturday is Halloween. Monkey is going to be a turtle! He will be awesome! Pics to come.

5. We have an announcement... that will be announced within the week... stay tuned!

Happy Halloween, Y'all!

Pictures of our life

Here are some very, very random pics from the last couple of months. Enjoy! :)

This was Monkey's second time in the pool. Believe it or not- he LOVED it the first time. But it did feel A LOT cooler this day. Unfortunately, we didn't have the camera with us the first night!
Monkey and his Daddy on the boat. We were on our way back in- and Little Boy was totally exhausted. But he had such a good time! He walked about 5 miles around and around the console- every now and then he would stop to look over the side, or at something on the boat, or to throw his sippy cup overboard! Good times!!

This was the morning of Monkey's ear surgery. Don't you just love the very manly gown the hospital provided? What you can't see are the yellow grippy socks. A definite statement. James did really well that day, considering. And so far, there seems to be improvement! We go back to the doctor tomorrow for a check-up.

Our choir had a hot dog cook-out last week- Monkey doesn't get into hot dogs, but he LOVES ice cream! He ate about half of the fudge bar!
We have been busy this summer- Monkey most of all. He never stops! He has learned how to climb into chairs (not sure if I'm excited or worried about that particular task) and he is finally learning to eat some real food. All in all, we are just enjoying our little boy, watching him explore his world, and learning more about ourselves everyday!

Well, the Monkey is back in bed- still no idea what woke him up. But the song "Yo Ho Heroes" from the Veggie Tales "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" calmed him right down.

Does anyone know anything about night terrors in toddlers? Yikes.

Random Life Stuff

OK- here's the deal for all on FB who have recently noticed that I am actually posting... I have a new smart phone! I no longer have to drag out the computer to get online, so now I am totally addicted to FB! It is sad, really. And what is even worse, I am now on Twitter. Except, I only know 1 person who is on Twitter. I am a dork! Period.

But I am a dork with a tan! We spent Tuesday morning on the boat! Whoo hoo!! It was James' first outing on the boat, and he absolutely LOVED it! He walked in circles around the center console the entire time! He would occasionally stop to look over the side at the water, or the pelicans, or stop to look at something he found on the boat- but other than that, he just walked in circles! It was too cute!

I have SO MANY PICTURES to post- yet this post will have nary a one. My camera is in the diaper bag- which is in the dining room so that Little Monkey cannot unpack it for me, and hide the things he finds inside.

Must go- the sleeping Monkey is... well not... and I have no idea why!
Good night!
